Two Events Coming Up:
Event #1 --
It’s Time for the Big Show Again!
Fine Scotch and Cigar Tasting
Thursday Night – June 12th – 8 to 10 P.M. Captains Table “Under the Tent”
For cigar smokers the big treat of the year is when The Depot teams up with Star Wines & Liquors and Captains Table to throw a tasting treat under the stars.
A month from now, on June 7th, for a mere $7 donation to the Monroe Fire Department you can smoke a Perdomo cigar and sample the finest Scotch whiskeys on the market – all in the camaraderie of other cigar aficionados. There will also be drawings for some special gifts!
Make your reservation at either The Depot or at Star for the big event.
Event #2 --
Dinner and Cigars at Warwick’s Dautaj Restaurant
Thursday, June 27th -- 6-9 P.M.
Two weeks after the annual Captains Table super-event: The Depot has accepted an invitation to join in a special dinner on the front lawn of Warwick’s famous Dautaj Restaurant (the former Warwick Inn). With your dinner you will receive a cigar of your choice from among several offerings including last year’s “Cigar of the Year”, a Flor de Las Antillas,” per Cigar Aficionado magazine.
In addition, we will be there to show you the most popular good cigars now on the market. You may make a reservation by calling call Ray at the Restaurant at 845-986-3666.
They’re Back – the Perdomo Packages!!!
About the only thing that customers Kenny Batewell and Captain Joe Brown agree upon is that the pre-wrapped Perdomo 4-packs are the best deal around at $24.50. Both of them are qualified to make that judgment because Kenny works at various construction sites in the City where he can visit Manhattan smoke shops, and Captain Joe is a fixture in the leading cigar emporiums in Yonkers where he lives. Here in Monroe they differ on almost everything else (In fact, Captain Joe even refused to march in our shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York State, which Kenny helped lead.)
Kenny and Captain Joe do have two things in common. Although neither one of them will admit it, they both seem to prefer The Depot over all the other shops they visit elsewhere. And the other thing they are vocal about in common is praise for the Perdomo $24.50 pre-wrapped packages. Captain Joe says that “It’s like getting a free cigar with each purchase”. Kenny agrees – although he can’t help but add a disparaging comment, “I’m sick and tired of seeing Captain Joe on television with all the recent news accounts of Monroe Town Board meetings and the Kyras Joel controversy.”
MOTHER’S DAY IS THIS WEEKEND … AND THE DEPOT HAS JUST WHAT YOU NEED
Don’t worry about what to do for Mother’s Day this year. You’ve got all sorts of choices at The Depot. As promised in the last Newsletter, we now have Woodstock Chimes – the perfect gift. Or, assuming that your lady likes candles, you can pick from Northern Lights or Colonial Candles. Plus, we have the very popular Vermont hand-crafted Silver Forest earrings! And we’ll always wrap your gifts -- for FREE!
[As usual, Kenny Batewell chose something from one gift category (which we can’t disclose at this time), which Captain Joe Brown spurned by choosing from another category.]
