Is Captain Joe Going to Behave Properly?
Some months ago, the controversial Monroe Town Supervisor allegedly tried to get our own Captain Joe Brown to arrest a leader of the opposition group “United Monroe”, and Joe refused. Now, after the recent election in which the Supervisor’s team lost, he’s presented a proposal to enable Joe to arrest audience members at Town Board meetings who act unruly. The problem with the resolution is that no one knows if Joe will exercise such authority. Joe’s only on-the-record statement is that he will arrest our own Kenny Batewell if he tries to attend a meeting – supposedly because Kenny lives in Chester rather than Monroe. [But Captain Joe admits that Kenny’s real sin is that he smokes other cigar brands than Joe’s beloved Perdomos.]
Meanwhile, our own John Sherne is preparing to take office in January as the newly-elected Highway Commissioner by smoking three cigars a day instead of his customary two. As his first act he promises to clear all of his former opponents’ campaign signs off the sides of the roads.
December's New Arrivals...
In our last issue we touted our “New World” – a great smoke at only $6.75. December’s new arrivals are also high quality but a little pricier – La Aroma de Cuba and and Montecristo Classic Toros.
